Manchester City planning contract talks with Arsenal target?
Manchester City are planning to open contract talks with Raheem Sterling following his recent turnaround in fortunes.
The England international has been in-and-out of the line-up this term, and there has been speculation that he could move on.
Sterling has made only four Premier League starts this season, but he has recently found his scoring boots for the Cityzens.
Amid injuries, Sterling was picked in the starting line-up against Everton last weekend. He opened the scoring with a superb strike.
He carried over the form in midweek with a crucial equalising goal against Paris Saint-Germain before Gabriel Jesus scored the winner.
It is now reported that the Mancunian giants are planning to open negotiations over a new long-term deal with the attacker.
Sterling's current contract expires in June 2023. The Cityzens are keen to prolong his stay until the summer of 2026.
It is unclear whether Sterling will accept the proposal, given his game time could reduce when everyone is fit for selection.
The former Liverpool graduate has been linked with Arsenal and Barcelona. The latter failed to sign him on loan last summer.
