Manchester City have no plans of parting ways with Ferran Torres during the winter transfer window.

The Spain international has reportedly requested to join the Blaugrana this winter, but a deal appears unlikely to happen.

According to The Mail, Pep Guardiola considers Torres as a key player in the squad, and won't entertain his mid-season exit.

Torres is presently sidelined with a metatarsal injury sustained in the Nations League semi final, and he is out until late December.

He has not received regular starts for the Cityzens since his arrival, but has impressed with the limited opportunities at hand.

The Blaugrana were keen on him when he was at Valencia. It appears that they may have to wait until the summer to sign him.

Torres was recruited for just £20m by the Cityzens, but they are expected to demand at least twice the figure to sanction his sale.

With Barcelona's financial concerns at the moment, it is unclear whether La Liga will permit them to make such a huge outlay.
