Jose Mourinho keen on signing Manchester United defender
Roma manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly determined to sign Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot.
Dalot was linked with a move away from Old Trafford over the summer, but nothing materialised in the end.
United were keen on landing Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid, but they were put off by the asking price.
With Brandon Williams and Axel Tuanzebe loaned out, the club eventually decided to keep hold of Dalot.
The Portuguese has largely been the back-up to Aaron Wan-Bissaka this term, but he has recently been a regular.
Dalot put in fine displays against Arsenal and Crystal Palace last week, and he appears to have displaced Wan-Bissaka.
Despite this, he continues to be linked with a reunion with Mourinho, who has identified him as his number one target.
The defender was signed by Mourinho for United back in 2018. He has yet to make 50 appearances for the Red Devils.
Dalot appears to be finally finding his feet at the club, and it won't come as a surprise if he is handed a new long-term deal.
His current contract expires in June 2023, but there is an option to extend for another 12 months. He was valued at £30m last summer.
