Chelsea defender set for Real Madrid move?
Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger is reportedly close to finalising a pre-contract with Real Madrid.
The centre-back has been a key figure under manager Thomas Tuchel this term, but he has refused an extension.
There has been a big difference in the salary package offered, and Rudiger is prepared to move on from the Blues.
According to Marca, the German's agent has already started talks with Los Blancos ahead of a free transfer.
Rudiger will enter the final six months of his contract in January. He will be free to negotiate with an overseas club.
Los Blancos are favourites to land his signature. They are prepared to meet his wage demands of £200,000-a-week.
Rudiger has been patiently waiting for a new offer from the Blues, but the board have refused to change their stance.
The hierarchy have offered around £150,000-a-week which is significantly lower than what Rudiger is looking for.
Despite the stand-off, he remains an ever-present figure in Tuchel's line-up.
