Arsenal favourites to land Renato Sanches?

Arsenal are reportedly leading the race to sign Lille midfielder Renato Sanches during the upcoming transfer window.

The Gunners signed Albert Sambi Lokonga from Anderlecht over the summer, but they were also on the look out for another midfielder.

Sanches was on their radar during the closing stages of the transfer window, but they were put off by the £35m price tag.

According to Telefoot, the London club will return for his services in January, and it is claimed that they could sign him for less.

The Portugal international will enter the final 18 months of his contract in the New Year, and Lille are willing to accept just £25m.

Sanches is aware of the interest from Arsenal. The Gunners are already in advanced negotiations with his representative.

AC Milan have also been credited with an interest in him, but he appears keen on proving himself in the Premier League.

Sanches was previously on loan at Swansea City, where he was largely ineffective before suffering a season-ending injury.
