Mikel Arteta confirms Arsenal striker has rejected new deal
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Eddie Nketiah has rejected to sign a new contract beyond next summer.
The striker has struggled for regular playing time this term. He has made just two appearances in the Premier League, totalling 30 minutes.
As a result, the 22-year-old recently turned down a new deal beyond June. Arteta has now confirmed that the striker could move on.
He told Arsenal.com: "He's our player and someone that we rate. He has the Arsenal DNA in his blood. His reason is that he wants to play more football."
Nketiah was heavily linked with Crystal Palace during last summer's transfer window before they signed Odsonne Edouard from Celtic.
The Eagles are unlikely to return for him next month, but there is still high-profile interest from Bundesliga giants Borussia Monchengladbach.
The German outfit can negotiate a pre-contract from January, but the Gunners could decide to cash in on Nketiah in the upcoming transfer window.
