Lingard won't leave Man Utd in January

Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard is prepared to stay with the club beyond the January transfer window.

The England international has struggled for regular first-team football this term. He has managed just 87 minutes in the top-flight.

There have been suggestions that he could leave in January, but David Ornstein claims that the forward is willing to stay.

His contract expires at the end of the campaign, and he is happy to run down his deal before pursuing a fresh challenge.

West Ham United have been heavily linked with his services following his excellent loan spell with them last season.

The 29-year-old bagged nine goals and five assists in the back end of last season as the Hammers finished sixth in the league.

The east London outfit failed to re-sign him permanently over the summer, and may need to wait for another six months.

United are unlikely to do business with them in January, considering they are now genuine challengers for Champions League football.
