Arsenal midfielder keen on Roma transfer
Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles is determined to join Roma during the ongoing transfer window.
The England international has barely started for the Gunners this term, and he is eyeing a mid-season departure.
Roma have already made a loan offer with an option to buy, but the north London giants are undecided over their graduate.
With Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny off for African Cup of Nations, they are reluctant to lose him without a replacement.
Maitland-Niles is only interested in joining Roma this month. If that does not happen, he is prepared to stay with the Gunners.
The club are currently looking at different midfield options. They have recently been linked with Georginio Wijnaldum.
The Dutchman is keen on a return to the Premier League this winter amid his lack of regular starts at Paris Saint-Germain.
The Gunners are only exploring a short-term loan deal for the 31-year-old, who was most recently with Liverpool.
The midfielder has more than 200 Premier League appearances to his name.
