Chelsea hit fresh roadblock in contract talks with defender

Andreas Christensen news

Christensen changes representative amid contract stand-off

Chelsea have hit a fresh roadblock in the contract negotiations with Andreas Christensen.

The Dane has entered the final six months of his deal, and he is free to negotiate a pre-contract with a foreign club.

The Blues were recently in talks over a new deal with Christensen, but there was a disagreement between both parties.

The central defender was reluctant to sign a five-year contract while the Blues were also put off by his agent's demands.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Blues now have a fresh headache on their hands with Christensen changing agents.

They will now need to restart talks from the off. There are suggestions that Christensen could be tempted to join Barcelona.

The Catalan giants are long-term admirers of him. Christensen may find it hard to turn down an approach from the Blaugrana.

He could be joined by Blues captain Cesar Azpilicueta. The Spaniard reportedly has a verbal agreement to join Xavi Hernandez's side.
