Manchester United enter hunt for Arsenal defensive target
Manchester United have entered the race to sign Brighton & Hove Albion defender Tariq Lamptey this month.
The Red Devils are keen on pursuing a new right-back this month with Ralf Rangnick unimpressed with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot.
Lamptey has been identified as the prime option to bolster the position, but he is unlikely to come on the cheap.
United value him in the region of £30m, but Brighton are likely to hold out for at least £40m to sanction his sale.
Lamptey has built his reputation since his move from Chelsea two years ago.
Arsenal were heavily linked with his services earlier last year, but cooled their pursuit following his hamstring injury.
They ended up signing Takehiro Tomiyasu, who has been an immense hit, but still have Lamptey on their radar.
Their focus is currently on a midfielder and striker. United appear favourites to sign the 21-year-old this month.
The arrival of Lamptey could trigger the departure of Diogo Dalot, who has been linked with a return to AC Milan.
