Manchester United defender Eric Bailly is reportedly open to joining AC Milan on a short-term loan deal.

The Ivorian is presently the fourth-choice central defender behind Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof.

On top of this, he could face fresh competition from Phil Jones, who recently made a terrific comeback after a knee injury.

According to Sky Sport Italy, Milan have identified Bailly as a potential loan target to cover up for Simon Kjaer's injury.

The 27-year-old would gladly accept the transfer as he is unlikely to cement a regular starting role with the Red Devils.

United are undecided over his future, but they will most probably reject any kind of proposal from the Rossoneri this month.

Interim boss Ralf Rangnick has insisted that he does not want to lose anyone this month, and may block Bailly's exit.

With coronavirus cases popping up on a regular basis, Rangnick could be reluctant to lose a key back-up defender.
