Zakaria not on Man Utd radar

Manchester United are not planning to make an approach for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria this month.

The Swiss has entered the final six months of his contract, and the German outfit are open to selling him in the next fortnight.

United have been linked with his services in recent weeks, but The Athletic claims that they are unlikely to make a transfer offer.

The midfielder is available for a cut-price fee of £6 million, but United scouts don't believe he would suit the club's style of play going forward.

Interim boss Ralf Rangnick has introduced a high-pressing style of football, and a new manager could be pursued with a similar philosophy.

Zakaria has been a regular for Monchengladbach, but United are not convinced by his form since returning from a long-term knee injury.

They are likely to pass the opportunity to sign him. Zakaria could end up moving to Serie A with strong interest from Juventus and Inter Milan.
