Manchester United are unlikely to pursue the signature of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria.

The 25-year-old has entered the final six months of his contract, and Gladbach are willing to sanction his sale.

Alternatively, Zakaria can also negotiate a pre-contract with a foreign club. It was recently claimed that United were interested.

Interim boss Ralf Rangnick allegedly made contact with his agents, but Sky Germany claims that there is no interest from United.

The Red Devils are unlikely to make any new signings this month, and prefer to wait until the summer for a potential midfield rebuild.

Rangnick has only been appointed on an interim basis, and United prefer to make new signings depending on the next permanent manager.

Mauricio Pochettino appears the front-runner for the job. He is likely to cut ties with Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the campaign.

While Rangnick will become a consultant next term, Pochettino reportedly wants full power over the transfer dealings this summer.
