Jose Mourinho pushing to sign Manchester United star?
AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen on signing Manchester United defender Eric Bailly before the end of the month.
The Ivory Coast international has fallen down the pecking order with the Red Devils. He is presently the fourth-choice centre-back behind Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof.
There is now further competition from Phil Jones, who is back to full fitness after his knee injury concerns. It is now reported that Bailly could push for a temporary exit before Monday's deadline.
The defender is desperate for regular game time. AC Milan have been keen on signing him on loan for a while, but they look set to face competition from the Giallorossi in the coming days.
Mourinho had an excellent relationship with Bailly when they were together at United. The defender praised the Portuguese as the best manager in the world, and he could be tempted by a reunion.
Bailly was promised regular first-team football when he signed a new deal in April 2021. However, it has not been the case thus far. He has played under 500 minutes this campaign.
