Donny van de Beek has signed for Everton on a season-long loan deal. The player can move on a permanent basis at the end of the season for a fee of £18 million.

A dismal time with Manchester United appears to be slowly drawing to an end after Everton arranged a short-term deal to secure the Dutchman's services.

Everton have snapped up a promising youngster who appeared to be constantly overlooked by former manager Ole-Gunnar Solskjaer, and has played only occasionally under Ralf Rangnick.

It is understood that Everton will pay the midfielder's salary for the entireity of the loan, and that van de Beek is hopeful regular first-team football will secure him international recognition for the Netherlands once more.

With the World Cup in Qatar fast approaching in November, van de Beek signalled that playing regularly would be the best way for him to force his way into the Dutch national team once more.

Everton are expected to announce several more signings before the transfer window shuts tomorrow, the 31st.
