Man Utd forward turned down Juventus and Barcelona offers
Manchester United forward Anthony Martial has revealed that he turned down loan offers from Juventus and Barcelona to join Sevilla.
Sevilla made an early approach to sign the Frenchman last month, but they were put off by the Red Devils' demands for a temporary deal.
Juventus and Barcelona followed to enter the race for his services, but the 26-year-old was adamant that he wanted to join Sevilla.
The La Liga oufit eventually signed him on loan. The financial details have not been revealed, but it is known that he accepted a pay-cut.
He told Diario de Sevilla: "It's true. Juventus tried to sign me. I was talking to my agent and told him I preferred to go to Sevilla. It was the best option for me and my family."
"FC Barcelona talked to my agent, but as I said, I spoke with my agent and told him: "My priority is Sevilla." And when I say something to someone, I don't change it. I keep my word."
Martial had a disappointing Sevilla debut against Osasuna last week where manager Julen Lopetegui asked more effort from him.
He has received similar criticism at United for his languid style of play, and it remains to be seen whether he can turn his fortunes around.
