Arsenal lining up move for Napoli midfielder
Arsenal are reportedly weighing up an approach for Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz.
The Spaniard is a key player for the Naples outfit, but could be on the move with his contract expiring in June 2023.
Barcelona and Real Madrid are long-term admirers, but they are set to face stiff competition from the Gunners this summer.
The London giants could pursue more than one midfielder with the prospect of Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny leaving.
Ruiz has been linked with the Gunners in the past, but a deal has never materialised with Napoli reluctant to listen to offers.
However, the scenario has now changed with his contract stand-off. It is reported that he could be available for just £16m.
The Gunners may need to qualify for the Champions League to boost their prospects of landing the former Real Betis star.
They are currently four points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester United, but have three games in hand over the Red Devils.
