Manchester United quoted price for Ligue 1 defender
Manchester United will need to pay around £40 million to sign Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile this summer.
The Red Devils were keen on landing the Frenchman in the summer of 2020, but their £22m bid was turned down.
Badiashile has since become a key player for Monaco. He is currently injured, but the Ligue 1 club still value him highly.
According to The Sun, the Principality outfit are reluctant to lose their prized asset and will only accept offers of £40m.
United are long-term admirers of the central defender, and may return for him as they are eyeing a left-footed option.
They could, however, face strong competition from West Ham United, who are also expected to reinforce their backline.
The Hammers have dropped out of the top four recently, but there has been criticism from some fans over the lack of spending.
The east London outfit may look to make amends this summer regardless of where they finish in the Premier League table.
