Chelsea failed with January move for Barcelona attacker
Chelsea failed with a cut-price move for Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele during the winter transfer window.
The Blues were heavily linked with Dembele last month but ultimately, they could not land his services.
According to Sport, the club were prepared to pay €10m for Dembele despite his contract expiring in June.
While Barcelona were willing to accept the deal, Dembele was not keen on pursuing a mid-season exit.
The Frenchman will now leave on a free transfer where he has the option to choose between different clubs.
A number of Premier League sides are keeping tabs on him including Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.
Manchester United are also long-term admirers of the Frenchman despite his injury record over the past few years.
Dembele has been a regular on the bench recently, but manager Xavi has insisted that he remains a key player.
It has been another injury-plagued campaign for him where he has made just 14 appearances in all competitions.
