Barcelona make contract offer to Chelsea captain - Fabrizio Romano
Barcelona have made a formal contact offer to Cesar Azpilicueta whose contract with Chelsea expires this summer.
The Spaniard is currently in his 10th campaign with the west London giants, but he continues to remain a key player.
However, he is still considering his options, given he may not be assured a regular starting role over the coming years.
On top of this, the Blues are only willing to hand him a one-year deal with the option for another 12 months if he impresses.
Fabrizio Romano now claims that Barcelona are keen on landing Azpilicueta, and are willing to meet his contract demands.
They are ready to hand him a two-year deal with a pay rise, with the assurance of another 12 months if required.
Azpilicueta is seriously considering the proposal, given he has the chance to end his career while playing in his homeland.
The Blues captain has recently become a key player for Spain. He needs to be playing regularly to start at the World Cup.
