Arsenal front-runners to land Ligue 1 striker

Arsenal are considered front-runners to land Lille striker Jonathan David amid the fierce competition.
The Canada international has been in fine form for Les Dogues this term, bagging 16 goals across all competitions.
He is keen to pursue a bigger challenge this summer, and Defensa Central claims that the Gunners are favourites.
Barcelona and Real Madrid have also been linked with him, but David may want an assured starting role up front.
The Gunners should be able to offer that with the prospect of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah leaving.
Lacazette and Nketiah have entered the last four months of their deals, and could leave on free transfers in July.
Still, David won't come on the cheap for the Gunners with Lille expected to demand at least €45 million up front.
David may also want the assurance of Champions League football, which the Gunners could seal via a top-four finish.
The Gunners are currently two points behind fourth-placed Man Utd in the league, but they have three games in hand.
