Guendouzi joins Marseille

Arsenal outcast Matteo Guendouzi has joined Marseille on a permanent deal, signing a 3 year contract with the Ligue 1 side in the process. The midfielder, who caught the eye at the Gunners during his first season, fell out with manager Mikel Arteta and moved back to France on a loan deal.

Guendouzi has made a permanent move from Arsenal to Marseille having played 38 games for his loan club, matching a clause in the deal that confirmed he would be playing for the Ligue 1 side on a permanent basis. It is understood that Marseille have paid approximately 15 million euros for the youngster's signature, and has penned a contract with L'OM until June 2025.

The 22-year-old had a difficult time in North London, and a number of disciplinary issues ultimately would end his time with Arsenal.

At times, Guendouzi was forced to train alone by manager Mikel Arteta, and his permanent transfer will enable summer funds to bring in reinforcements. It is understood that Arsenal have already identified their top three transfer targets.
