West Ham United are interested in signing Chelsea striker Armando Broja following his temporary stint at Southampton.

The Armenian has been in impressive form for the Saints this term, bagging nine goals from 27 appearances in all competitions.

His potential has caught the eye of several English clubs, and Standard Sport claims that the Hammers are lining up an approach.

The east London outfit were desperate to sign a new striker in January, but ended up without landing any of their transfer targets.

They are expected to try again during the summer. Instead of pursuing someone abroad, they have their sights on landing Broja.

David Moyes' side are willing to pay £25m for the 20-year-old, but it is unclear whether their London rivals will sanction his sale.

They may be tempted to accept the proposal if the Hammers are willing to include a buy-back clause after a period of around two years.

The Blues utilised a similar ploy for Tammy Abraham. He was sold to Roma for £33m, but can re-sign him for double the sum in June 2023.
