Arsenal have their sights on Lyon playmaker

Arsenal could reportedly compete with Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign Lyon playmaker Lucas Paqueta this summer.

The Brazilian was heavily linked with a move to Newcastle United in January, but Les Gones had no plans of selling him.

Meanwhile, Paqueta was also reluctant to consider the proposal, but he could be on the move during the next transfer window.

According to Calciomercato, Les Parisiens are eyeing a move for the playmaker, but they could face fierce competition from the Gunners.

Paqueta has registered eight goals and five assists for Lyon this term. He has played in different attacking positions including the striker's role.

He is open to a bigger challenge elsewhere, but would only join a Champions League club. Lyon are likely to demand around €45m.

Arsenal are currently on course to qualify for the Champions League after five years. They are fourth on the table with 48 points.

The Gunners have three matches in hand over Manchester United, who are presently one point behind them in the standings.
