Dani Ceballos's future at Real Madrid is reportedly hanging in the balance ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Spaniard has made just seven appearances for Los Blancos this term after recovering from a long-term ankle injury.

It is now reported that the midfielder could leave the club this summer with the hierarchy reluctant to renew his current deal.

Ceballos is presently contracted until June 2023, and the board have not been convinced to reward him with a new contract.

Former club Real Betis and Villarreal have been linked with him, but neither club are willing to meet his wage demands.

On top of this, both sides are also reluctant to meet the £20m price tag, and prefer to sign him for a much lesser price.

Crystal Palace have also been credited with an interest, but Ceballos may have second thoughts over a Premier League return.

He had a decent debut season on loan at Arsenal that saw him rejoin. However, his second year was poor with several unforced errors.
