Mikel Arteta confirms fresh Arsenal injury blow after Villa win
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale could be sidelined for a while.
The England star missed the Villa game with a muscle injury, and it does not appear a short-term concern.
Speaking after the game, Arteta revealed that the 23-year-old picked up a 'proper injury' against Liverpool.
Arteta added that Ramsdale could be sidelined for 'weeks', thereby hinting that he could miss several more games.
Bernd Leno started in goal for the Gunners earlier today. The German made his first league start since late August.
He had a relatively comfortable game. Villa failed to register a shot on target until the dying seconds of the match.
Leno is expected to leave the Gunners this summer, but he will be aiming to finish the current campaign on a high.
As things stand, it appears likely that Leno will continue in goal when the Gunners visit Crystal Palace next month.
Arsenal are currently fourth in the league standings, four points ahead of fifth-placed Man Utd with a game in hand.
