Man Utd identify their main transfer targets - David Ornstein

Ralf Rangnick news

Pochettino, Ten Hag among top candidates for Man Utd job

Manchester United have earmarked Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag as the leading candidates to become their next manager.

The Red Devils parted ways with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November last year, and brought in Ralf Rangnick in an interim capacity.

Things started off brilliantly under the German tactician, but the mood has completely changed over the past seven weeks or so.

The club are facing a tough battle on their hands to finish in the top four, and many players feel Rangnick lacks managerial pedigree.

Amidst this, The Athletic's David Ornstein has revealed that Pochettino and Ten Hag are among the prime candidates for the vacancy.

The reputed journalist added that there are other contenders for the job. United are keen to finalise a deal before the end of March.

The new head coach will take charge at the end of the campaign, but the club want to plan in advance with the manager's input on transfers.
