Arsenal back in the race for Barcelona man?
Arsenal are prepared to revive their long-term interest in Philippe Coutinho this summer, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Brazilian made the temporary switch to Aston Villa from Barcelona in January after being out-of-favour.
He has since excelled with seven goal contributions. Villa may look to sign him on a permanent basis this summer.
The west Midlands outfit have the option to buy him for £33m, but a move remains complex amid his hefty wages.
Villa are currently paying just £125,000-a-week with the remaining £250,000-a-week covered by the Blaugrana.
Even if Coutinho accepts a pay-cut, Villa may need to offer him over £200,000-a-week to extend his stay.
This could scupper a potential transfer. Arsenal are prepared to capitalise on any shortcomings for Steve Gerrard's side.
Coutinho is no longer in the prime of his career, but has been in sparkling form since his Premier League comeback.
Mikel Arteta remains a big admirer of the 29-year-old, and the club have already made contact with his representative.
