Franck Kessie makes summer transfer decision

Arsenal and Manchester United target Franck Kessie looks set to join Barcelona on a free transfer this summer.

The Ivorian's deal with Milan expires at the end of June, and he is free to speak with foreign clubs over a Bosman move.

A number of Premier League sides including Arsenal and United have been linked, but Kessie has chosen Barcelona.

The Catalan giants opened talks with his representatives last summer, and are now on the cusp of landing his services.

Kessie recently passed a medical with the La Liga club, and he is expected to sign a pre-contract in the coming days.

The news will come as a potential blow for both Arsenal and United, who are keen on pursuing a holding midfielder.

The Gunners want more competition for Granit Xhaka while the Red Devils are aiming to add more quality in the role.

Scott McTominay, Fred and Nemanja Matic have all occupied the position, but none have impressed significantly.
