West Ham favourites to land Manchester United target

West Ham United are reportedly favourites to sign Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic at the end of the campaign.

The Serbia international was linked with the Hammers last summer, but ended up staying with La Viola for another season.

His previous deal was due to expire in June 2023. He signed a one-year renewal with the promise of being sold this summer.

According to Calciomercato, the Hammers are still considered favourites to sign the 24-year-old despite interest from Inter Milan.

Manchester United are also long-term admirers, but the Hammers believe they have the edge over their European counterparts.

The club have made immense progress under manager David Moyes, and are now vying for European football on a regular basis.

They are yet to make the jump to the Champions League, but have a good chance of doing so by winning the Europa League this term.

Milenkovic was valued in upwards of £18m last summer, but he could be available for around £15m when the transfer window reopens.
