Jurgen Klopp provides Mohamed Salah contract update
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has said that he is optimistic over Mohamed Salah putting pen-to-paper on a new long-term contract.
It was recently reported that the Egypt international had agreed terms over a new long-term deal, but there has been no official announcement.
Speaking in a press conference today, Klopp has said that he is happy with the progress of the negotiations, but has nothing more to update.
He said "I'm happy with it because there's nothing new to say - that's good. The decisive parties are talking to each other and that's all I need."
Salah has been heavily linked with Barcelona in recent weeks, but Fabrizio Romano has insisted that he has no plans of moving to Spain.
Salah has established himself as a world-class player at Liverpool, and does not see himself leaving the Premier League during the prime of his career.
Liverpool are engaged in talks over a renewal. A deal could materialise if they meet his current wage demands of around £350,000-a-week.
