Liverpool pushing to sign Serie A centre-back?

Liverpool are keeping a close eye on Torino defender Gleison Bremer ahead of a possible summer approach, Tuttosport claims.

The Brazilian was close to joining Fulham last summer, but opted to reject their interest to continue with the Serie A outfit.

This has proved an excellent decision for him, considering he has been in exceptional form defensively for his club.

His individual displays have caught the eye of several elite clubs including Arsenal, Liverpool, Inter and AC Milan.

There are no clear-cut favourites to sign him at the moment, but the Reds are in regular contact with his representatives.

The Merseyside outfit may reinforce their central defence this summer with Joe Gomez likely to push for minutes elsewhere.

Bremer, who is valued at £25 million, could replace him, but the Brazilian may not entertain a regular role on the bench.

The centre-back harbours the ambition of representing Brazil at the World Cup, and needs regular minutes to make it.
