Bailly wants Man Utd exit this summer

Manchester United defender Eric Bailly has decided to pursue a fresh challenge away from the club this summer.

The Ivory Coast international has been with the Red Devils since 2016, but has made just 113 appearances amid injuries and competition for places.

It has been a similar situation this campaign. The centre-back has not played for the Red Devils in the Premier League since late December.

According to Manchester Evening News, Bailly will push for a permanent exit this summer, having fallen down the pecking order this term.

Bailly is presently the fourth-choice centre-back in the squad. Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof have been preferred over him.

There are suggestions that United are eyeing another marquee centre-back this summer. It may come at the cost of Bailly leaving the club.

Aside from Bailly, Phil Jones is also expected to leave following his recovery from a long-term knee injury. He could be released.

Jones was on the radar of Bordeaux in January, but he opted to snub them. He is expected to prefer a new challenge within the country.
