Arsenal favourites to land £84m striker

Arsenal are reportedly favourites over Manchester United to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer.

The Gunners are expected to bolster their frontline with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah potentially leaving at the expiry of their contracts in June.

Manchester City's Gabriel Jesus is one of the prime targets for the Gunners, but they have also been regularly linked with Osimhen's services.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Gunners are the number one contenders for the Nigerian, who has 16 goals and five assists this campaign.

The striker is eager to play in the Premier League next term, but Napoli are expected to demand at least £84 million to sanction his departure.

The Gunners are not in a position to afford the package, but the situation could change if they qualify for next season's Champions League.

They are presently two points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur for the fourth spot in the league standings with five more matches remaining.
