Arsenal midfield target hints at summer exit
Arsenal midfield target Ruben Neves has opened the possibility of leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers in the next transfer window.
The Portuguese has been with the Midlands outfit over the past five years, but could move elsewhere with the lack of progress at the club.
Speaking after the final game of the season yesterday, Neves admitted that he could leave Wolves in order to fulfil his dreams in football.
He said: "Everyone knows about what football is about, what our lives are about. Our careers are really short, we need to take the opportunities we have."
"Of course, all of us have dreams and we need to live those dreams in a short space of time. Let's see what happens. I cannot say too much about it."
The Gunners are long-term admirers of Neves. They have been keeping tabs on him for a while, and could consider a formal approach soon.
However, they are not alone in the player's pursuit. Barcelona are also interested, and it is claimed that they would be Neves' first-choice.
The Catalan giants need to offload players first to do business, and it remains to be seen whether the Gunners can convince the Portuguese prior to that.
The lack of Champions League football is a blow, but the lure of continuing in the Premier League could be a tempting prospect for Neves.
