Man City step up chase for German youngster Florian Wirtz

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is preparing for life after Fernandinho and Ilkay Gundogan with a potential move for German versatile midfielder Florian Wirtz. The 19-year-old is seen as the brightest prospect to emerge from Germany in the last 5 years.

Wirtz has already proven himself to be an able midfielder at a top Bundesliga side, having made his debut in 2020 for Bayer Leverkusen. Since then, the 5 foot 9 midfielder has appeared over 60 times for his club.
