Nketiah set for new Arsenal deal

Arsenal have reportedly agreed terms with Eddie Nketiah over a new long-term contract.

The 22-year-old hardly played for the majority of the campaign, but became a regular starter during the final eight games of the season.

He proved his worth with five goals from eight appearances, and he is now prepared to put pen-to-paper on a new deal beyond June.

A number of Premier League and Bundesliga clubs were keen on landing him for free, but he has decided to snub them to extend his stay.

The exact length of the contract has not been revealed, but reputed journalist David Ornstein claims that he is likely to sign a five-year deal.

Nketiah was the undisputed striker during the final month of last season, but he may not be assured a starting spot in the next campaign.

The Gunners want a marquee striker in the upcoming transfer window, and Nketiah could be used in rotation across different competitions.

Still, it's a win-win situation for the north London giants. They will benefit from Nketiah firing or else have the chance to get a good fee.
