Man Utd determined to land 34-goal sensation

Manchester United are determined to secure the services of Benfica striker Darwin Nunez in the upcoming transfer window.

The Uruguayan had a stupendous 2021/22 season for the Portuguese giants, netting 34 goals from just 41 appearances.

This has caught the eye of elite clubs including Real Madrid and Liverpool, but United are also said to be serious contenders.

According to Portuguese outlet Record, the Mancunian giants have the financial capacity to go head-to-head with the duo.

They have plenty of funds to spend without Champions League football, but the same has become a disadvantage this summer.

Nunez wants to be playing in the elite competition, and United will need to convince him to join them over the coming weeks.

New manager Erik ten Hag has reportedly identified Nunez as the perfect signing and wants to make him a reference for the team.

Aside from Nunez, United have been frequently linked with Napoli's Victor Osimhen. Both players are valued at around €100m.
