Chelsea set to make first summer signing, personal terms agreed
Chelsea are set to complete the signing of Sevilla defender Jules Kounde in the coming days, Sport reports.
The Blues were keen on landing the Frenchman's signature last summer, but were put off by Sevilla's demands.
The La Liga outfit wanted the €80m release clause to be paid in full while the Blues only offered around €50m.
It is now reported that the west London giants are prepared to up their bid to €60m following their takeover.
Sevilla recently sanctioned Diego Carlos' move to Aston Villa, and they are now expected to permit Kounde's exit.
The Andalusian outfit want to complete their outgoings at the earliest such that they can plan for new signings.
Chelsea are reportedly keen on signing more than one central defender with multiple departures expected soon.
Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen have agreed to join Real Madrid and Barcelona on free transfers.
Aside from Kounde, the Blues have their sights on landing RB Leipzig centre-back Josko Gvardiol.
