Tottenham beat Chelsea to Inter Milan star

Tottenham Hotspur have beaten Chelsea to the signing of Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic, reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano claims.

The Croatian has transformed his career over the past two seasons at Inter where he has played at left wing-back.

He is now prepared to pursue a fresh challenge with his contract expiring next month. Spurs appear set to sign him.

Chelsea had made a tentative enquiry to his agent earlier this month, but Spurs have won the race in the negotiations.

Perisic lifted the Scudetto under Antonio Conte in 2020/21, and the 33-year-old is now looking forward to a reunion.

The World Cup finalist was terrific for the Nerazzurri last season with 10 goals and nine assists from 49 games.

Considering his immense success from the left wing-back role, he could make the position his own at Tottenham.

He has shown no signs of slowing down despite his age, and has finally got the chance to impress in the Premier League.
