Man Utd to swoop for Inter Milan defender

Manchester United are reportedly among the main contenders to sign Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries this summer.

Dumfries joined the Nerazzurri from PSV Eindhoven last summer, and had a productive debut season with five goals and seven assists.

Despite this, the Serie A giants are prepared to offload him, considering they need to balance their financial books before the end of June.

The Dutchman could be available for around £30m, and Calciomercato claims that both United and Bayern are interested in landing his services.

Dumfries started his career as a right-back, but over the past 12 months, he has operated from the right wing-back position for club and country.

It is unlikely that Erik ten Hag will choose the same system at United, but Dumfries' attacking attributes have impressed the new head coach.

Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have been the regular right-backs for the Red Devils, but the latter has been tipped to leave the club this summer.
