Man Utd make offer to Eriksen

Manchester United have made a formal contract offer to Christian Eriksen whose deal with Brentford expires this month.

The Denmark international had a shock cardiac arrest at Euro 2020, but made a terrific return to competitive football this year.

He was instrumental for Brentford with four goals and one assist from 11 games as they comfortably avoided relegation.

Eriksen only signed a short-term deal with them in January, and it now appears he has decided to pursue a bigger challenge.

Tottenham Hotspur and United have been touted as front-runners to sign him, The Athletic claims that the latter have made their move.

Eriksen has yet to decide on his club future, but he has repeatedly said that he would like to play in the Champions League again.

If that is the case, he could prefer a return to Spurs where he spent six-and-a-half seasons before joining Inter Milan in January 2020.

The 31-year-old is likely to prefer staying in the Premier League.
