Romelu Lukaku set for early Chelsea return to discuss future
Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku is planning to report for pre-season training at the earliest in order to sort out his future.
The 29-year-old rejoined the Blues from Inter Milan for €115 million last summer, and there were high expectations from him.
He was expected to propel Chelsea towards the Premier League trophy, but nothing of that sort happened in the end.
Lukaku started off brilliantly with three goals from three league games, but netted only five more for the top-flight season.
Ahead of next season, there is already talk of him leaving the club. Inter are planning to re-sign him on a two-year loan deal.
The temporary move could cost around €25 million while the Nerazzurri are also planning to propose an option to buy for €60 million.
The Blues are undecided over Lukaku's future, but the Belgian could try and push through his exit over the coming weeks.
Chelsea have identified Napoli's Victor Osimhen as a possible replacement.
