Arsenal set to sign Portuguese playmaker
Arsenal have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Porto playmaker Fabio Vieira.
The Gunners have been fancied to sign a new striker and central midfielder this summer, but they are also eyeing signings for other key positions.
According to Portuguese journalist Pedro Sepulveda, the north London club have now finalised a deal worth £34.2 million to sign Porto's Vieira.
The 22-year-old is an attacking midfielder by trade, but can also operate from the second striker role. He had a superb 2021/22 season with Porto.
Vieira registered six goals and 14 assists from just 15 league starts, and he could be a solid competitor to Martin Odegaard next season.
The Portugal youth international is expected to arrive for his medical tomorrow and a transfer could be formally completed soon.
Vieira is set to become the club's second signing of the summer following the arrival of Marquinhos from Brazilian outfit Sao Paulo.
Arsenal are likely to make at least four more purchases this summer.
