Arsenal star signs new long-term contract
Eddie Nketiah has ended speculation over his future by signing a new long-term contract with Arsenal.
The 22-year-old rejected a new deal earlier this year due to the lack of minutes, but his fortunes changed during the final weeks of the season.
Nketiah started the last eight games of the Premier League campaign, scoring on five occasions. He has now committed his future to the club.
The Gunners graduate has also been handed the iconic number 14 jersey, which was most recently worn by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Despite Nketiah's renewal, the Gunners are expected to recruit a marquee striker. They have been tipped to sign Manchester City's Gabriel Jesus.
Personal terms have already been agreed through his agent, but there is still a difference in terms of the transfer valuations between the clubs.
The Gunners' opening bid of around £30 million has been rejected. They are planning a fresh offer which will be less than the £50m asking price.
