Lokogna set for Arsenal stay

Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga has no plans of leaving the club on loan during the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old joined the Gunners from Anderlecht last summer, and was restricted to just 1,400 minutes of first-team action in his debut campaign.

With the club now eyeing another central midfielder, they have been suggestions that Lokonga could be loaned out, but the Belgian has other plans.

According to football.london, Lokonga is determined to prove himself under Mikel Arteta and prefers to continue with the first-team next season.

Lokonga barely played during the backend of the previous campaign, but could get more minutes next season due to the congested schedule.

Due to the winter World Cup, the Gunners could be playing as many as 10 matches in October, and the same could happen in April next year.

Lokonga may not be a Premier League regular for the north London club, but could get more minutes in the Europa League and Cup competitions.
