Victor Osimhen on West Ham radar?
West Ham are surprise entrants in the race for Nigeria international striker Victor Osimhen, currently playing for Serie A side Napoli. The talented striker, who has caught the eye since moving to Italy from Lille in France, has caught the eye with a number of solid displays leading the line for his club.
With 15 goals in 22 games for Nigeria's national side, the Lagos-born forward is considered one of Africa's best strikers and the player himself is desperate to move to England to continue his development. A fan favourite at Napoli, in 51 games the 23-year-old has returned an impressive 24 goals in the domestic league with last season's 14 goals in 27 Serie A games considered a solid return.
Napoli originally paid 70 million euros for Osimhen, and West Ham could be set to match that fee with a move as the Italian giants have constrained financial resources at this time.
Osimhen had caught the eye of Premier League giants Arsenal, but the North London side opted to move for Man City striker Gabriel Jesus instead, with a deal for the Brazilian set to be announced early this week.
