Rashford to play as a striker next season?

Marcus Rashford could potentially lead the line for Manchester United next season, according to Manchester Evening News.

The England international has been a key player for the Red Devils over the years, but his form was pretty poor last season.

Rashford netted just five goals across all competitions. He was largely playing out wide as Cristiano Ronaldo started up front.

It is now reported that United have shelved their plans to sign a new striker as Erik ten Hag prefers a more versatile forward.

The club have their sights on landing Ajax winger Antony, and his arrival could coincide with Rashford playing up top more often.

With the hectic schedule next season, it is quite clear Ronaldo can't lead the line on his own. He could be rested in a number of games.

In his potential absence, Rashford could be the main man up front. Ten Hag is said to be preparing him for the role, right from pre-season.
