Chelsea make surprise loan offer for Neymar

Chelsea have made a shock move for Brazilian forward Neymar, with the Paris St Germain star said to be ready to leave Ligue 1 for a new challenge in England. Chelsea, under new ownership, have been given around £160 million to spend on new players this summer.

Manager Thomas Tuchel has previously worked with Neymar, and Todd Boehly the club's new chairman is said to be a huge fan of the forward.

With Romelu Lukaku departing Stamford Bridge on loan to his former club Inter Milan, there is space in the club's squad to bring in new faces, and Neymar appears to be at the top of the list.

Chelsea will need to compete with German side Borussia Dortmund and Serie A champions AC Milan though, as both clubs also hold a long-term interest in acquiring Neymar from PSG.

According to reports, PSG will settle for a 20 million euro loan fee and are looking for the full salary of the forward to be paid by the club that ends up securing Neymar's coveted signature.
