Chelsea midfielder eyeing new contract
Chelsea midfielder Jorginho is aiming to remain at Stamford Bridge with the plan of signing a new contract, according to his agent.
The 30-year-old was a key player for the Blues last term, bagging nine goals and four assists from 47 appearances across all competitions.
Despite this, there have been questions over his future with his contract expiring in 12 months. His agent Joao Santos has now provided clarity.
Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, Santos said that Jorginho's main priority is to stay at Chelsea, and contract talks could be held in September this year.
He said: "Chelsea are the priority (for Jorginho). His contract will expire in 2023, I think we will talk about the renewal from September".
Jorginho has amassed over 200 appearances for the west London giants. He has been a mainstay in the midfield alongside N'Golo Kante.
Still, he has been the subject of criticism from some fans for his slow decision-making. He has also shown signs of regression of late.
